Khusbu Bhandari: An Wildlife Conservationist!

Ms.Khusbu Bhandari is an 18-years old Wildlife Conservationist from Chitwan. Currently, she is working as a snake rescuer in Raise Hands Nepal. She has been rescuing snakes for about two years. Following her father, she has been saving snakes in her community. She also creates educational videos about snake bites and their significance to aware people. 

She has been highlighted on several social media sites, newspapers for her work. She has been featured on BBC News Nepal as the “First Girl to Rescue Snakes in Nepal.” She has been featured twice on Routine of Nepal Banda, one of Nepal’s most popular Facebook pages for news and information. Khusbu conveys the message that not all snakes are deadly, as well as the significance of snakes. Her article “Save Snakes for Sake of Nature” was published in Bichar.com. Through her article; She has been providing information to the people.

Aside from that, she has been active in social concerns aimed at eradicating gender inequality. She has influenced others through her work. Her optimistic outlook has proven to be extremely beneficial to society. Her bravery and love for snakes have earned her the title of snake rescuer and safe releaser.

In the future; She hopes to contribute to the abolition of gender inequity and the preservation of snakes.

Khusbu Bhandari has been selected as a “Glocal’s 20under20 of 2021 Batch” as an early change-maker throughout the nation. Glocal’s 20 under 20 is an umbrella title for 20 early change-makers, who are teenagers from diverse fields, stepping out to create an impact in the society.
